Snow Storm Packs Quite A Punch
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – An early-season major winter storm dumped over a foot of snow on Philadelphia and more than 19 inches on some parts of the Garden State.
Residents in and around the region woke up Monday morning to a heavy blanket of snow. The snow came to an end early Monday, but the major problem will be strong winds.
When all said and done, the city of Philadelphia received 12.4 inches of the white stuff. A snow emergency remains in effect and city officials said trash and recycling pick-up is cancelled for Monday.
The season’s first snow storm also impacted Sunday’s scheduled Eagles game against the Minnesota Vikings. The game has been postponed until Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. It is the first time that an NFL game will be played on a Tuesday since 1946.
