Delaware Valley Prepares For Snow
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Local officials are preparing for the storm.
Gene Blaum with PennDOT says when the weather hits; they will be ready to plow.
“We did some preliminary brining in Montgomery County on Thursday and very likely that will be followed up and we’ll have the respective areas.”
Meanwhile, Victoria Lupica with Philadelphia International Airport, says inclement weather in other parts of the country could have a ripple effect on travelers here:
“Well if there’s a storm for example in the Midwest and the conditions don’t allow a flight to leave than the inbound flight might be cancelled coming into Philadelphia if they can’t leave their departing city.”
Some flights have already been canceled; this woman had a difficult time flying out of Philadelphia, “I went to check in my bag and the man was like, yeah your flight is cancelled. As a matter of fact, all the flights today are cancelled for Atlanta.”
CBS 3 Meteorologists are forecasting between eight and 12 inches of snow accumulation for the city of Philadelphia and it’s surrounding areas. For full story go to: http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/
