Eagles Clinch NFC East
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The snow put a hold on the Eagles game with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night, but it didn’t prevent Philadelphia from clinching the NFC East and a trip to the NFL playoffs.
The Giants, fresh off of their week 15 collapse to the Eagles, went into Green Bay with a chance to clinch a playoff birth of their own with a win over the Packers. To the delight of Eagles and Packers fans alike, that didn’t happen.
Instead, it was Green Bay that came away with a 45-17 victory, securing the division title for the idle Eagles.
The Eagles, of course, still have a lot to play for over the final two weeks of the regular season, starting with Tuesday night’s contest against the Vikings.
