Safety & Cool News- Roger Robbie Crossing Guard Beat Hosted By Van Stone: New Drawings Of Roger Robbie, The Hip Hop Raccoon Aim To Raise Crossing Guard Positive Image Illustration by Richard Gibson
Roger Robbie, the ‘Hip-Hop Raccoon’, often encourages children to know that is important having a good relationship with the safety guard, even if the guard is a School Crossing Guard.
Since we are talking about real safety issues existing in the life of a fantasy animal character, Roger Robbie will enlighten many kids and parents to crossing guard tips that can be used when going about their regular walk crossing the street to and from school.
The Roger Robbie character was updated partly by Van Stone’s desire to bring more learning about top safety and health recommendations into the schools and the entire community.
For years now there have been lots of people who feel like school children are benefiting from their friendly crossing guards posted at traffic corners. That just gives Richard “Ricardo DaVinci” Gibson, the newest illustrator of Roger Robbie, more reason to draw the raccoon in such a way so that they’re not losing a good feeling about crossing guards at work.
“I’m excited to try to ensure that when kids see art about learning crossing guard work, they get to draw characters reflective of the real world and not just the routine safety officer, cop or crossing guard seen in drawings now,” says Gibson.
"Male and Female crossing guards, for example, used to be a certain shape or size when drawn. But today, they're younger and older, they're not angry looking or scary looking," said Van Stone, who teaches a class on "The Crossing Guard Training" for Van Stone Productions Foundation experimental crossing guard training program for kids and adults.
The new Roger Robbie animal character should inspire many youths and adults to want to train to become a crossing guard one day. And the illustrations will help students to learn how fields such as animation, art, writing, music, film, acting, dance, photography, videography and others can blend in with crossing guard action.
The character of the crossing guard has changed a lot. Animal characterization like Roger Robbie will help learning about safety become more fun.

Safety & Cool News- Roger Robbie Crossing Guard Beat Hosted By Van Stone: Roger Robbie the Hip Hop Raccoon Helps Crossing Guards To Do A Great Job Illustration by Richard “Ricardo DaVinci” Gibson
PHILADELPHIA- Philadelphia Front Page News: School kids need to feel safe walking to and from school. Often times students' lives become at risk even when a crossing guard is posted at an intersection and is standing on the corner watching all the adults and children walk past.
Roger Robbie, the Hip Hop Raccoon, is about to join all the daily excitement involved in crossing guard duty.
Lots of kids who are very familiar with Roger Robbie recognize that drawings about road safety to a nearby school and training methods to be alert when watching crosswalk signs means less dodging traffic on busy streets.
New drawings of Roger Robbie are in the works to help safety advocates share fun information about crossing guards blowing whistles, stopping traffic, and directing students to make sure everyone gets to school safely.
Richard Gibson, Philadelphia’s photographer-artist, has taken the helm in helping to illustrate the new Roger Robbie with crossing guard equipment.
Roger Robbie will be in illustrations showing helpful crossing guards holding stop signs and crossing children walking with their parents; stopping and directing traffic, too.
Roger Robbie safety drawings will help remind friends how kids can become crossing guards as well as being always prepared to continue to show up each day and help city and borough students cross busy roads.
Like school officials, city officials, law enforcement officers, and parents, Roger Robbie supports safety programs across the nation because crossing guards are our community’s eyes and ears watching the streets and traffic sign - mornings and afternoons.

Steve Harvey Meet With President-elect Donald Trump: Some Black Americans Are Sorry They Became Angry At Harvey by Van Stone frontpagenews1@ayahoo.com
Steve Harvey meet with President-elect Donald Trump... Many Americans were surprised about the meet between Mr. Harvey and Mr. Trump.
Shortly after the word spread that Harvey had met with Trump a rumor spread that many Black Americans became angry at Harvey....
It has been rumored that some individual adult Black Americans began to behave like children because Harvey actually met with Trump.
Quickly Harvey was name-called Coon and a few other names that are insulting to any positive Black American that proudly and publicly reminds all Americans today that Blacks should have never been viewed as property- Black Peoples in America should have never been surrendered as property to anyone in the United States.
As a writer, I have been writing about Black Americans for over 30 years, I find it interesting that there are still many Black peoples in America who will gladly launch attacks against other proud Black Americans.
I did attend college and read many books about the late great Malcolm X.
No Black man that can't figure out who Malcolm X was should dare quote something Malcolm said and use it to call another positive Black man a coon.
Many many Black people just don't know the difference between Donald Trump and Steve Harvey. And many people in general say things that are completely backwards about Black representation and Black leadership because anger uncontrolled can get the best of them.
What does being a coon have to do with Steve Harvey meeting in person with Donald Trump?
As soon as many Black peoples also heard that there was a rumor calling the present great Jim Brown a coon -because Icon and fighter for better Black national opportunity, Brown had also met with Trump, they became so sorry that they got angry at Harvey.
In conclusion, any group or individual name-calling Jim Brown or Steve Harvey a coon clearly don't know a thing about Black Pride or the Blackness in America.
Let them that name-call Steve Harvey a coon continue in their way to behave like children... that is why for years Black Americans weak or strong, need real men and women that have a credible story to tell about themselves- and all races as well as all positive people in America will know the difference between... what are coons and Black butterflies.
Just because one or more Black peoples name-call another Black peoples coon doesn't mean that the name-caller knows what the hell is speaking.
As for the real truth as we know it today, Steve Harvey is a Black Butterfly- term of endearment to many who are Black Peoples and or more...

Animal Character Friend “Roger Robbie And Richard Gibson Art Will Promote Family Safety
For years “Roger Robbie, the Hip Hop Raccoon” understood that people working with families may need to use different ways of communicating with children other than talking.
The Roger Robbie character, created by the late Herb Rogers Jr., and illustrated by the late Robert L. Jefferson, has been used as an alternative communication method in signs, symbols, pictures and electronic communication aids for school age children since 1985.
Writer and Family Safety Advocate Van Stone has worked the hip hop raccoon story into an illustrated and fun way of giving safety information and explanations to children. This helps the children understand better what they have been taught.
“Exploring characters and situations from stories can also help children discuss happy feelings with their experiences,” says Stone. There are storylines and characters from games as well as books featuring Roger Robbie.
Most recently artwork in general has evolved to be like language. And Stone has worked with illustrator Richard Gibson to help show how artwork has become a great way to communicate feelings, relationships and internal family experiences.
Family safety issues have become much more important in 2017 than they used to be. Artwork can become a huge part of family safety.
Art work, just like music, can be used in many ways. These ways include looking at artwork with young people, creating art and drawings together and supporting young people in creating art.
Kids need to spend more time with great art characters that are able to help draw out their personal qualities. Roger Robbie and animal friends are drawn to include a capacity to be playful, creative, fun, real, and emotionally warm.
“The illustrations of Gibson and his ways of working art aren’t just restricted to children and young people,” Stone said. “Adults involved in family safety will also find art by Gibson and animal characters helpful to express their views, concerns, thoughts, feelings and inner experiences through creative means”.

More Police Body Cameras Coming To South Jersey Departments
Seven departments in Burlington County and three in Gloucester County are included in this second round of grants. Last year, 44 local departments in the tri-county area took advantage of the offer. Pair those efforts with putting cams on every state trooper and it’s thought about half the cops in New Jersey are now equipped with them.
“I believe we’ve hit a tipping point where it’s only a matter of time where every police department in this state has body cameras and they should,” Elie Honig, Director of the Division of Criminal Justice within the Attorney General’s Office, told KYW Newsradio.
Van Stone and Richard Gibson turn the antics of children’s animal characters into safety information for the whole family.
Van Stone, writer and family safety advocate for the non-profit Van Stone Productions Foundation, provides free resources OF expert safety information.
Stone achieves his aims through training and consultation. He also uses animal character illustrations and short stories, many times in a reading, drawing, music, dance, and video training format, to support family safety goals for the community.
“Giving human characteristics to animal characters has major benefits when helping to get difficult learning points across to kids,” says Stone.
Examples are found throughout literature, the arts, and everyday life.
The combination of animals possessing very distinctive human traits in art and storytelling is called anthropomorphism.
Van Stone and other well-known professional writers have used the technique for over 30 years. Stone also uses animal characters to write and develop investigative stories about real life incidents and accident prevention.
In 2017 Richard Gibson will work with Stone to use anthropomorphism for a variety of reasons, one of which is to “promote safety and create a wider community interest in safety, says Gibson.
By using animals or other objects with human traits, Stone, the author, and Gibson, the illustrator, can tell a story in a visually appealing, non-threatening way to all families.
“The goal is to make the animals more familiar, to draw individuals to the story and make specific points more memorable for kids,” Stone said.
Stone has used a cartoon, “Roger Robbie, the Hip-Hop Raccoon,” showing a raccoon with safety education signs, for example. Gibson can help a child grasp the idea that the animals are very smart and will take precautions to avoid hazards that are the most frequent causes of injuries, diseases, and death in the neighborhood and home.
As a result, many different topics can seem less scary, and children and adults often learn very quickly.

14-Year-Old White Student Faces Charges After Being Accused Of Making Racist Video Of Black Student Eating Chicken
District Attorney John Morganelli said he was authorizing charging the boy in juvenile court but expects the boy will be given a form of probation that, if completed, would result in dropping the case.
The student recorded a high school student eating chicken wings and, in narrating the piece, refers repeatedly to the black student with a racial slur and obscenity and describes him as “being broke and on welfare” and getting free food. Morganelli called it “reprehensible.”
