Happy Holiday, Sixers Beat Suns 123-110

Guard Jrue Holiday led the Sixers with 25 points

PHOENIX (CBS) - The 76ers did something last night they very rarely do. They won in Phoenix for the just the second time in their last nine trips.

Jrue Holiday scored 25 and Even Turner added 23 points off the bench as the Sixers took care of Phoenix 123-110. Andres Nocioni also had one of his biggest games as a Sixer, he finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

The Sixers had been just 3-20 in their previous 23 games on the Suns’ home floor, but they picked up this win with an age-old formula: They hit shots.

The Sixers shot 55 percent from the field and 86 percent from the line (30-35) in improving to 13-19 on the season. They also did all this damage without Andre Igoudala. The swingman missed his second straight game with tendonitis in his right Achilles’ tendon.

Steve Nash had 23 points and 15 assists in defeat for 13-17 Phoenix.

The Sixers are now 3-3 on this eight-game road trip which continues Friday night in Los Angeles with a game against the Lakers.

Changing The Symbolism Of The Color Black

I am Van Stone, author and syndicated columnist, and I invite people from all intercultural backgrounds to join the Van Stone Productions Foundation. My hope is that, through the media, I can teach men, women, and children the importance of joining the organization Van Stone Productions Foundation (VSP) which helps to define the color “black.” I had exactly what VSP members were looking for when I used the admired works of Dr. Seuss’, “My Many Colored Days” to come up with the “Expression of Black” in the color black.

I assign colors to moods and emotions as was Dr. Seuss’ signature. VSP brings colors (nationalities), images (crafts), and partnerships (personal gender relationships) together as one family/community. I believe that black means happy. I like to say, "The thoughts of happy men generate good company for positive people."

"Unfortunately the color of black has been blamed for many tragedies. Such as dressing in black during school shootings, being black-listed or black-balled, evil, etc.," I'd also say, "The color black has been synonymous with many negative things and subconsciously the color black creates negative thoughts for many people.

I desire that the color black be re-designed and created in a whole new expression, just like green is for earth day, blue is for jean day, silver is for a 25th anniversary.

I have created a PEACE DAY for the wearing of the color black to stop unduly influencing people with the symbolism of the color black having negative connotations. On PEACE DAYS, all days are great for reading, honoring grandparents, doing any type of planting, telling close friends that you are glad to have them as a real friend, and hanging out in your library. PEACE DAYS are also for conversing about your favorite poems, realistic fiction, monsters, fantasy, fairy tales, mascots, or superheroes who may represent the color black. Then it would be good to draw the shape of a black rose or heart.
