West Philly School Gets a New Playground — In One Day
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Some schoolchildren in West Philadelphia spent the afternoon Friday doing something they’ve never done before: swinging off monkey bars and sliding down sliding boards near their school.
St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in West Philadelphia got a special treat from the folks at Keystone Mercy Health Plan — they got a playground (above).
(Girl:) “I was waiting for this playground to get here! I was so happy.”
And Anne Morrisey with Keystone Mercy says they did it in one day:
“There’s a fair amount of prep work that goes along with it, but you bring in a lot of people.”
It’s the ninth playground Keystone Mercy has built since 2007:
