McNabb March Expected To Draw National Spotlight Again

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — It was never intended to be what it turned out to be. At least not the way it was originally mapped out. No, the “Dirty 30,” a busload of vociferous, somewhat inebriated Eagles’ fans, was put together on NFL draft day 1999 to show their support for the newest Eagle.

Instead, it became emblematic of the way Philadelphia sports fans behave when they rained down boos that mid-April afternoon at Madison Square Garden on Donovan McNabb, taken by the Eagles with the second-overall selection, behind top choice Tim Couch, chosen by Cleveland.

It’s an episode that’s always stuck with McNabb, as well as 610 WIP radio’s popular morning drivetime host Angelo Cataldi and Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, then mayor of Philadelphia who publicly threw his vocal support behind the Eagles taking Texas tailback Ricky Williams with the second selection.

Changing The Symbolism Of The Color Black

I am Van Stone, author and syndicated columnist, and I invite people from all intercultural backgrounds to join the Van Stone Productions Foundation. My hope is that, through the media, I can teach men, women, and children the importance of joining the organization Van Stone Productions Foundation (VSP) which helps to define the color “black.” I had exactly what VSP members were looking for when I used the admired works of Dr. Seuss’, “My Many Colored Days” to come up with the “Expression of Black” in the color black.

I assign colors to moods and emotions as was Dr. Seuss’ signature. VSP brings colors (nationalities), images (crafts), and partnerships (personal gender relationships) together as one family/community. I believe that black means happy. I like to say, "The thoughts of happy men generate good company for positive people."

"Unfortunately the color of black has been blamed for many tragedies. Such as dressing in black during school shootings, being black-listed or black-balled, evil, etc.," I'd also say, "The color black has been synonymous with many negative things and subconsciously the color black creates negative thoughts for many people.

I desire that the color black be re-designed and created in a whole new expression, just like green is for earth day, blue is for jean day, silver is for a 25th anniversary.

I have created a PEACE DAY for the wearing of the color black to stop unduly influencing people with the symbolism of the color black having negative connotations. On PEACE DAYS, all days are great for reading, honoring grandparents, doing any type of planting, telling close friends that you are glad to have them as a real friend, and hanging out in your library. PEACE DAYS are also for conversing about your favorite poems, realistic fiction, monsters, fantasy, fairy tales, mascots, or superheroes who may represent the color black. Then it would be good to draw the shape of a black rose or heart.
