Philadelphia Eagles at San Francisco 49ers
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver
DeSean Jackson scores a touchdown
on a 45-yard reception from Michael
Vick against the Detroit Lions in the
first quarter of an NFL football game
in Detroit, Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010.
8:20 p.m., WRC-4, WBAL-11, 49ers by 3
San Francisco is 0-4 for the first time since going 2-14 in 2004, having already lost twice on game-ending field goals. The 49ers haven't been 0-5 since losing the first seven games of a 2-14 season in 1979 under then first-year coach Bill Walsh. In last year's meeting of these two teams, the Eagles' DeSean Jackson, above, caught six passes for 140 yards, including a 19-yard TD reception.
SMARTER STATS:Philadelphia's Kevin Kolb was Captain Checkdown in relief of Michael Vick last week, but there should be no concern with that against a 49ers' defense that is falling apart (seemingly like everything else with that franchise). A defense that was expected to shine in 2010 currently ranks 25th in pass defense according to our metrics.
