Spectrum To Meet Wrecking Ball On Nov. 23
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Spectrum is set for one last shot.
The famed arena in South Philadelphia will face the wrecking ball at noon on Nov. 23. Former Philadelphia Flyers Bernie Parent and Bobby Clarke, and Philadelphia 76ers Hall of Famer Julius “Dr. J” Erving all won championships playing games at the Spectrum and will be on hand for its final event.
The public is invited to watch as Comcast-Spectacor chairman Ed Snider makes the signal to strike the 43-year-old former home of the Flyers and 76ers with the wrecking ball.
The Spectrum officially closed when Pearl Jam completed its fourth show in five nights on October 31, 2009.
