2011 NBA Mock Draft: Philadelphia 76ers Covet Markieff Morris at No. 17
Philadelphia 76ers Bolster Front Line Depth With Selection of Markieff Morris
The 6-10 Markieff Morris has been a great college player because of his soft touch around the rim. He is an efficient scorer who is a sound rebounder as well.
He was consistent throughout the tournament and was able to out work opponents in the Big 12.
Morris will need to bulk-up his 245-pound frame, but that shouldn't be a issue once he begins to work with professional trainers.
He is one of the safest picks in this years draft, but his potential to be a game-changing star is not as high as some of the players that will be drafted ahead of him.
Good Fit or Bad Fit?
He may be more of a mid-range man in the NBA and will struggle to score in the paint. He is capable of shooting three's in the NBA and he may be better off playing more on the perimeter.
With the impending free agency of Michael Beasley, there will be a vacancy on the front line of Minnesota that Morris could step-in and fill right away.
