Islam Expert Disputes Group's Claim That Books are Anti-Muslim

A Muslim organization in Pennsylvania is launching a national campaign against a series of books that it claims promote anti-Islam bias.
The Pennsylvania chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-PA) claims that a 10-part series of books designed for middle school and high school students published by Broomall, Pa.-based Mason Crest Publishers promotes hostility toward Islam and suspicion of Muslims.
CAIR-PA civil rights director Moein Khawaja:
"The book is rife with incorrect information and fear mongering, and ultimately seeks to paint the picture that Muslims in America are to be treated with suspicion and that they all have links to terrorism."
Consultant for the "World of Islam" book series was the Foreign Policy Research Institute. Alan Luxenberg (right) is the institute's vice president:
