Daylight saving time begins this weekend. We turned our clocks forward one hour on Sunday at 2:00am.
And as we prepare for the arrival of Spring, the Philadelphia's office of emergency management wants you to be ready in the event of an emergency.
"Get Ready: Set Your Clocks, Check Your Stocks" is a campaign sponsored by the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management. Edward Vassallo is the readiness coordinator:
"Basically, what we want to do is remind people that when they are springing their clocks forward on Sunday to also check their emergency supplies -- to make sure have batteries, flashlights, first-aid kits, things like that. And also check their smoke alarms and change their batteries for that as well."
Vassallo says that when setting your clocks, it's also a good time to update emergency phone numbers and to review your family's home evacuation plan.
