Community Leaders Speak Out Against Gun Violence In Point Breeze, Grays Ferry PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A number of community leaders spoke at a press conference Friday afternoon to respond to the gun violence that has plagued the Point Breeze and Grays Ferry section of the city since mid-September.
Police say more than a dozen people have been shot, including a 2-year-old girl.
State Representative Kenyatta Johnson, Senators Larry Farnese and Anthony Williams and 17th Police District Captain Anthony Washington are just a few of the leaders who spoke at an anti-violence press conference in South Philadelphia. Johnson says the goal was to provide support to the shell-shocked community:
