Temple Student Critical After Botched Robbery Attempt In N. Philadelphia, Suspect Arrested
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police have announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the early morning robbery attempt and shooting of a Temple student.
The off-campus incident occurred in the 2300 block of North 12th Street, north of Dauphin Street early Monday morning.
According to sources, two Temple students were approached by a group of young males who demanded money just after about 2 a.m. When the teenager attempted to rob the two students, one of the Temple students, identified as 21-year-old Rob Eells, a native of Doylestown, pulled a licensed gun and there was an exchange of gunfire. One of the suspects, a 15-year-old, and Eells were shot.
