NFL Scores Week 1: Steven Jackson's Injury Dooms Rams Vs. Eagles
Sep 11, 2011 - The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to challenge for the NFC's Super Bowl berth in the 2011 NFL season. They looked like it in their season opener, claiming a 31-13 win over the St. Louis Rams with relative ease.
Michael Vick led the Eagles with his typical mix of passing and running. Vick completed just 14 of 32 throws for 187 yards and a touchdown, but added 98 rushing yards. And he wasn't the Eagles' leading rusher: LeSean McCoy had a big day, racking up 122 yards on the ground and scoring one rushing and one receiving touchdown.
The Rams' offense, meanwhile, struggled. Sam Bradford, Steven Jackson, and Danny Amendola all left the game with injuries of varying severity, and Eagles defensive lineman Juqua Parker took a Bradford fumble 56 yards for a touchdown in the first half. St. Louis had as many third down conversions as it did fourth down conversions: two.
