One Year Later: Haitian Earthquake Victims Recovering In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – One year ago Marcel Derenera and Maudelaire Joseph witnessed the worst of Mother Nature and the best of human nature had to offer.
One year ago both narrowly escaped the earthquake in Haiti and got their injured son’s life saving medial care in Philadelphia thanks to the help of a local non-profit, Partners in Health.
Marcel’s son, Javon, was at a neighbor’s house when the building collapsed. The 6-year-old’s injuries were numerous and the hospitals in Haiti were unable to help.
