Camden Police Union Rejects Concession Plan
CAMDEN, NJ (AP) - The main union representing police officers in Camden has rejected a concession deal that could have put about 100 laid-off officers back to work.
Fraternal Order of Police local president John Williamson said the vote was 300 to 1 against the measure.
He says the city was offering to bring back officers if they agreed to three unpaid furlough days a month for six months, then one more day a month for the next year.
Williamson says he’ll keep negotiating.
