Philadelphia Won’t Be Cleveland, But DNC Security Will Be Comparable
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Cleveland is gearing up for possible turmoil when it hosts the Republican National Convention this
summer
.
Philadelphia’s job of hosting the Democrats seems easy by comparison,
but the same security precautions are being taken in the city.
Philadelphia should be very safe in July when delegates come in from
around the country for the Democratic National Convention. In an update
by the host committee, special advisor David Cohen said both conventions
are national
security
special events, so they both get the same federal protection — though
he hastened to add it won’t be anything like the visit of Pope Francis.
