Marc Anthony files for divorce from Jennifer Lopez

Marc Anthony has made his breakup from Lopez official by filing for divorce in Los Angeles. The singer filed his petition to end the marriage on Monday, April 9, 2012, and cited irreconcilable differences.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Marc Anthony has made his breakup from Jennifer Lopez official by filing for divorce months after the superstar couple announced their separation.

The Latin crooner filed his petition Monday in Los Angeles. He cited irreconcilable differences but did not put additional details of the split, including the date he and Lopez separated, in the filing.

The former couple announced they were ending their marriage in June after seven years. They have twin children together, and Anthony is seeking joint custody.

The pair had been a high-profile couple and maintained a business relationship even after their announcement, appearing in the reality television series "Q'Viva!" and promoting it together.

Anthony's marriage to Lopez was his second. She had been married twice before when the couple wed in June 2004.

Anthony has delved into acting and producing in recent years, and appeared in the 2006 film "El Cantante" with Lopez.

Lopez has seen her career rebound since joining "American Idol" as a judge. She released an album titled "Love?" last year.

Changing The Symbolism Of The Color Black

I am Van Stone, author and syndicated columnist, and I invite people from all intercultural backgrounds to join the Van Stone Productions Foundation. My hope is that, through the media, I can teach men, women, and children the importance of joining the organization Van Stone Productions Foundation (VSP) which helps to define the color “black.” I had exactly what VSP members were looking for when I used the admired works of Dr. Seuss’, “My Many Colored Days” to come up with the “Expression of Black” in the color black.

I assign colors to moods and emotions as was Dr. Seuss’ signature. VSP brings colors (nationalities), images (crafts), and partnerships (personal gender relationships) together as one family/community. I believe that black means happy. I like to say, "The thoughts of happy men generate good company for positive people."

"Unfortunately the color of black has been blamed for many tragedies. Such as dressing in black during school shootings, being black-listed or black-balled, evil, etc.," I'd also say, "The color black has been synonymous with many negative things and subconsciously the color black creates negative thoughts for many people.

I desire that the color black be re-designed and created in a whole new expression, just like green is for earth day, blue is for jean day, silver is for a 25th anniversary.

I have created a PEACE DAY for the wearing of the color black to stop unduly influencing people with the symbolism of the color black having negative connotations. On PEACE DAYS, all days are great for reading, honoring grandparents, doing any type of planting, telling close friends that you are glad to have them as a real friend, and hanging out in your library. PEACE DAYS are also for conversing about your favorite poems, realistic fiction, monsters, fantasy, fairy tales, mascots, or superheroes who may represent the color black. Then it would be good to draw the shape of a black rose or heart.
