Sixers Face Their Next Test In Kobe Bryant And The Lakers
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Four games into their toughest seven game stretch of the season, the Sixers are sitting at 3-1, and have taken a step toward proving their record isn’t just a product of an easy schedule. A week of games with the Eastern Conference’s elite, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta and Orlando, had only one setback, a loss to the Heat on Friday night. The Sixers kept it close with the Heat until Miami blew the game open in the fourth quarter.
The second week of challenges begins tonight at the Wells Fargo Center, as the Sixers welcome Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. The 14-10 Lakers season can best be described as inconsistent, and Bryant is scoring more than he has in years. Shouldering much of the scoring load, Bryant is scoring 29.4 points per game, his most since the 06-07 season when the Lakers went just 42-40 and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Suns. Bryant’s 23 shots per game are his most since the 05-06 season.
