Days After Gov. Christie Vetoes Gay Marriage Bill, New Jersey Case On Marriage Equality To Proceed In Court
TRENTON, NJ (CBS) – Just days after Governor Chris Christie vetoed a bill that would allow for gay marriage in the Garden State, a New Jersey Superior Court reinstated the federal equal protection claim in Lamda Legal’s case on marriage equality on Tuesday.
The case was filed on behalf of Garden State Equality and involves seven same-sex couples and their children who were allegedly harmed by the state’s current laws surrounding civil unions.
