As Ramadan Ends, Area Muslims Eye Brewing Controversy
As Philadelphia Muslims mark the end of Ramadan, many are buzzing about the news that a pastor in a small Florida town has said he planned to mark the anniversary of the September 11th attacks by burning copies of the Muslim holy book, the Quran.
KYW’s Hadas Kuznits reports that Saadiq Abdul Jabbar Garner, outreach coordinator of the Germantown Masjid, responds to the ongoing controversy (see related story):
“It shouldn’t be a public display of someone burning the Quran or a million Bibles or Torahs or whatever. We don’t think that that type of behavior is acceptable. Those types of things are signs of ignorance, especially if they’re done under the banner of any religion.”
Luckily, he says, Muslims learn patience during Ramadan:
