"Milk it Does the Body Good"
A few days ago, I had a conversation with a dear friend, a matter a fact,
Lorence Potate is family to me. He's a veteran singer, musician and songwriter
and above all a great man and follower of Christ Jesus.
As professional artists in the music industry he and I were discussing our trade. Lorence Potate, is very savvy, when it comes to the music industry and how the business and music effects people individually and collectively.
And he had just recently assisted me in some very important business issues, concerning the music industry. Lorence wittiness, shrewdness, knowledge and understanding, of the music business, the beginner, even the veteran artist would find him to be a fascinating person, who knows, who he is in business and in the Lord.
He had my undivided attention from the start, concerning the business of music. Then he abruptly changed, not the subject, he took it to another level. and now I am really all in.
See, Lorence had reviewed some of the music from my debut album titled ”Where Sin Met The Blood", by chief co-written Mr. Mark Hawkins from Kansas City another man of God. Mark Hawkins is a prolific and extremely skillful lyricist, his lyrics touches the very spine of a person’s spirit and soul!
As I continued listening to what Lorence was saying, he made a small but intense statement. I quote" Your music is like Milk". I must admit, I had no idea at the time, what he meant, but I knew he was taking it somewhere; then he explained himself. ”Your music is wholesome, nourishing". And immediately the light went off in my spirit, it was scripture that he was speaking, when he mentioned, Milk!
1-Corinthians 3:2. I lend thought to that scripture and it gave way for the Holy Spirit for interpretation of what the Spirit was saying to Lorence, within the structure of the music, now I understood totally this word, "Milk".
Long story short: This is how the Spirit gave it to me. The music, the artist's vocal-delivery and the structure of Mark Hawkins lyrics, will guide the ones who don't know to the Lord and strengthens the ones who do know Christ.
In closing. As children of the LORD's, our awareness of the voice of the Holy Spirit, and our spiritual wisdom to discern is crucial in knowing God's voice. And that he's correct and decisive in bring things into focus in order to bring results in your life and doing His will, as for example Lorene, Mark and myself working and hearing what God is saying. It keeps us in oneness with Him. Regardless wherever we may be in life or location, in our case, Philadelphia. Los Angeles and Kansas City he's omnipresent!
And concerning this word, Milk, it says to me, that it is still a great amount of work to be done, there are babes without support.
