Nicole Frederick with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania says they kicked off the first day of cookie-selling season at the Shops at Liberty Place. This year marks the 99th year of Girl Scout cookie sales.
“So it started in Philadelphia and they were sort of like a shortbread, they were a sugar cookie and they were sold out of someone’s window. It was like a drive-up window. The cookies weren’t very good, either.
If you would make them today, they’re not as good as the shortbread we have now,” said Frederick.
