Philadelphia Children, Families In Need Score Big At Operation Brotherly Love’s Holiday Carnival

  

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Thousands of children from around Philadelphia, whose families are struggling this time of year, attended a party at Lincoln Financial Field, where they received coats and other holiday goodies. It was all part of the 13th annual Operation Brotherly Love Holiday Carnival and Rally.
Each child received a coat, hat, scarf, gloves and a present.

“They’ll be 5,100 people here with 750 families representing 2,000 kids who are in need,” said co-founder Adam Shell. “Everyone thinks the economy is getting better and it is for the people on the higher end, but there’s more and more people falling in poverty. There’s so much need and there’s so many people who want to do good and therefore we got to bring them together and make the magic happen.”
