Local Coalition Announces Intention To Hold Philadelphia’s Mayor-elect To Campaign Promises
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A coalition of community and faith-based groups
is calling on Mayor-elect Jim Kenney to follow through on some of the
promises he made during the campaign.
They call themselves the 99 Days Coalition. That’s how long they’re giving the incoming
administration
to take action before issuing a report card. The Reverend Greg Holston
says tops on Kenney’s list should be putting an end to the city’s stop
and frisk policy.
“We say clearly to the Mayor-elect, who when asked questions about
stop and frisk, blatantly said to us it would end the day that he became
Mayor. Well we’re looking on the first day for you to keep your word.
This is something you can end right away.”
