Eagles Defense Key Factor In Loss Against Chargers

The Philadelphia Eagles lost their home opener against the San Diego Chargers, 33-30. The loss extends the Eagles regular season losing streak in Lincoln Financial Field to seven. In fact, since the last Eagles home win in the regular season, September 30, 2012 against the New York Giants, 14 different football teams from the NFL and college have won in Lincoln Financial Field. to the Linc later this week.

Quarterback Grade: A-

Mike Vick completed 22 passes for a total of 428 yards and two touchdowns. The passing total was a career high for Vick. The Eagles quarterback also did well protecting the football by not throwing an interception or losing a fumble, although he did lose 11 yards on a fumble that went out of bounds in the second quarter. Vick only took one sack as well, for a loss of six yards. The Eagles may have started slowly, but in the fourth quarter Vick led the Eagles on two scoring drives before time ran out. Generally speaking, when you get that kind of production out of Vick and he avoids turning the football over, the Eagles should probably come up on the winning end of the game.

Changing The Symbolism Of The Color Black

I am Van Stone, author and syndicated columnist, and I invite people from all intercultural backgrounds to join the Van Stone Productions Foundation. My hope is that, through the media, I can teach men, women, and children the importance of joining the organization Van Stone Productions Foundation (VSP) which helps to define the color “black.” I had exactly what VSP members were looking for when I used the admired works of Dr. Seuss’, “My Many Colored Days” to come up with the “Expression of Black” in the color black.

I assign colors to moods and emotions as was Dr. Seuss’ signature. VSP brings colors (nationalities), images (crafts), and partnerships (personal gender relationships) together as one family/community. I believe that black means happy. I like to say, "The thoughts of happy men generate good company for positive people."

"Unfortunately the color of black has been blamed for many tragedies. Such as dressing in black during school shootings, being black-listed or black-balled, evil, etc.," I'd also say, "The color black has been synonymous with many negative things and subconsciously the color black creates negative thoughts for many people.

I desire that the color black be re-designed and created in a whole new expression, just like green is for earth day, blue is for jean day, silver is for a 25th anniversary.

I have created a PEACE DAY for the wearing of the color black to stop unduly influencing people with the symbolism of the color black having negative connotations. On PEACE DAYS, all days are great for reading, honoring grandparents, doing any type of planting, telling close friends that you are glad to have them as a real friend, and hanging out in your library. PEACE DAYS are also for conversing about your favorite poems, realistic fiction, monsters, fantasy, fairy tales, mascots, or superheroes who may represent the color black. Then it would be good to draw the shape of a black rose or heart.
