“Occupy Philly” Marching From City Hall To 30th Street This Afternoon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Members of “Occupy Philadelphia” are planning a march through Center City today, just as this afternoon’s rush hour gets underway.
Organizers say the rally and march is part of the National Day of Action with the unemployed.
“The march starts near City Hall at 4 p.m. today,” says Joe Piette, with the Philadelphia Economic Advancement Collective. “It’s going straight up Market Street to the bridge by the 30th Street Station. It’s to point out that a lot of structures around the country need work and millions of people need that work. It’s an economic emergency, and we’re calling for people to join us to make that point.”
