New Series Of Books Highlights Historic Events In Delaware And Chester Counties
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Almost everybody knows some of this area’s biggest history, like what happened at Independence Hall or Valley Forge, but an author has a series of books on some of the lesser events.
Mark Dixon, history columnist for Main Line Today, has collected stories in the Hidden History of the Main Line, Delaware County and Chester County, one book devoted to each.
Chester County hosted one of the first murder trials in which photographic evidence was used to convict. From Delco, a Quaker leader avoided bloodshed during a rumor of an Indian rebellion by asking the tribe what’s up? Nothing, they said.
