Philadelphia Fire Dept. Offers Standby Assistance To Camden
No formal policy has been written, but Camden fire chief Michael Harper’s memo to all units says the mutual aid package includes matching up their radio systems to ensure that they could communicate with each other.
Philadelphia fire commissioner Lloyd Ayers calls it a “proactive move.” He promises that Philadelphia firefighters would only be dispatched to Camden in the event of “an extremely urgent situation in which people are in peril in camden.”
