Phila. Jury to Decide Life or Death for Convicted Cop Killers
Life in prison or death.
The penalty phase begins Monday for convicted cop killers Eric Floyd and Levon Warner.
Last week a Philadelphia jury found that the defendants, Eric Floyd and Levon Warner, shared the intent to kill sergeant Stephen Liczbinski with triggerman Howard Cain, who was later shot and killed by police.
Now that same jury will have to weigh so-called “aggravating” and “mitigating” factors.
Prosecutor Jude Conroy was expected to present evidence and arguments for several aggravating factors — including the murder of a police officer, a murder during a robbery, and the fact that both defendants have significant histories of crimes of violence.
