Convicted Cop Killer Tries to Make Life Imprisonment Deal
The penalty hearing for two convicted Philadelphia
cop killers was delayed this morning by several
developments including an eleventh-hour attempt
at a plea deal by one of the defendants.
KYW’s Tony Hanson reports that prosecutors, who are seeking the death penalty, quickly rejected a possible deal for defendant Levon Warner, who sought a life term in exchange for dropping any future appeals.
Warner and co-defendant Eric Floyd were convicted last week of the first-degree murder of Philadelphia police sergeant Stephen Liczbinski, setting the stage for today’s death penalty hearing.
