From Philadelphia, PA - Antoinette Cook, Editor and Radio Station Manager Philadelphia radio station, Internet- Power WVSR 1360.US, Radio Host, and Associate Editor at Philadelphia newspaper and magazine, Philadelphia Front Page News is taking the lead in relaunching Van Stone Gospel Fusion for music lovers.
Cook is known for directing the much of the production work of the best of today’s hottest mainstream, pop and crossover music playlist as well as Philadelphia Front Page News and WVSR radio commentaries focused on local and international current gospel music.
“Van Stone has created a new name for this particular gospel music genre formatted and played on Power WVSR 1360 Radio and Power 88 The FM Radio or elsewhere,” says Cook.
“He listens with you to the gospel music style that incorporates elements of diverse spiritual inspirations, said Cook who is working on sharing Van Stone’s meaning of Gospel Fusion.
‘Join me,’” he asks as he shares the music process or result of joining two or more music categories together to form a single gospel music entity, “says Cook.
Van Stone calls this entity of music- “Gospel Fusion.” The infusion fare includes something a bit different from the sound of “standard” hymns.
The music is a traditional and contemporary-like style of soulful rhythm and vocals wrapped in harmonized testimony, persuasion, or warning of jazzy praise.
Van Stone, founder of Philadelphia Front Page News and West Philadelphia Van Stone Radio (WVSR) discusses gospel music which represents the gospel in written and musical forms. Cook, an associate of Stone and creator for the national media promotion processes alongside Stone for over 10 years explains a little about his format.
“Stone’s view of Gospel Fusion is that it really makes no difference what religious group you support. You have to listen because it is music that’s easy to grasp, sounds like a blend of smooth jazz, and more easily singable, ” says Cook.
According to Stone, Gospel Fusion is more than music. Gospel Fusion is a subgenre of rhythm and blues from urban Black American music talent and positive image blended with gospel from rural Black American music with a professional dress, and dress down dance and modeling, and inspirational writing flair.
Gospel music is music genre In Christian denomination music.
“Gospel Fusion is a non-denominational music and style composed and performed for positive image purposes and as an entertainment product for the media, says Stone.
“Because many religious groups such as Judaism, Christian, and Islamic accept the gospel writings, Gospel Fusion is music and lyrics that are written with gospel text and spoken words.”
“The use of the phrase Gospel Fusion has been designed to achieve the goal altering a negative state of image and strengthen the positive images that bonds people to professional dress, modeling, singing and dance, and writing.”
Van Stone’s hope is that Black positive image will survive and that music lovers will relate to professional dress, singing, modeling and dance more in their everyday life styles. Both Stone and Cook feel that Gospel Fusion can help in many ways.
Antoinette Cook is returning to the music playlist department with both the radio sounds at Power 88 The FM at www.power88.us and Power WVSR 1360.1 AM at www.powerwvsr1360.us to jump start a new playlist that Van Stone and other dee jays will play balancing the popular creative work of many signed, independent, and unsigned songwriters and composers, and singers and song leaders.
