PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Congregants of the Enon Tabernacle Baptist church in Mt. Airy held a donation drive Saturday to collect items to help Liberians who are struggling with the spread of the Ebola virus.
“We are collecting sanitary items as well as food items to help halt the spread of the Ebola virus,” says Reverend Kevin Murphy, Associate Pastor of Missions and Evangelism. “We do have some members that have family members in Liberia, but our real connection is through the Lott Carey. The missioner who founded the Lott Carey organization left the United States and he started a school as well as the Providence Baptist church. That’s our true connection and that’s where we will be sending all these items.”
