PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – After an absolutely improbable, season-opening victory over the two-time defending champion Miami Heat on Wednesday, the Sixers will try to start 2-0 as they visit the Washington Wizards.
The Sixers beat the Heat by placing five players in double-figures, but no one had a bigger game than rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams. The Syracuse product announced his presence in the NBA with authority against the Heat, finishing with 22 points, 12 assists, nine steals and seven rebounds.
While the Sixers were shocking the world, Washington was losing its season opener, falling to the Detroit Pistons on the road
